Saint Agnes Parish is happy to provide pastoral care to the many pastoral institutions that reside within our boundaries.
We are motivated to care for those in need first and foremost because of our love for the Eucharist. The Eucharist, as the "source and summit" of the Christian life, is simultaneously what gives us strength to meet the suffering in various capacities and the reason why we do so. If the Eucharist is the Body and Blood of Christ given for the world, then we cannot call ourselves "Eucharistic" unless we also give of ourselves in service of our neighbor.
We are also motivated by the words of Jesus Christ to St. Paul on the road to Damascus: "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" (Acts 9:4). In this is the acknowledgement of Jesus Christ present most especially in those who are suffering. This teaching is once again echoed in the Judgment of Nations recorded in the Gospel of Matthew: "Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to the least of these, you did not do it to me" (Mt 25:45).
Animated by the Eucharist and presence of Christ in those who are suffering, we seek to bring pastoral care to those in our parish.
We offer 4 pastoral care settings:
1) Hospital & Hospice Ministry
2) Nursing Home Ministry
3) Homebound Ministry
4) Prison Ministry
