General Points to Remember:
The dispensation for the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation remains in place. This means that while we welcome you back to public Mass joyfully, no one is obligated to attend. You are still encouraged to keep Sunday as a holy day.
If you have pre-existing conditions, are sick, or are otherwise at risk with regards to the COVID-19 infection, please stay home.
St. Agnes will continue to live-stream Mass on Sunday at 10am in English and 12 Noon in Spanish.
Masks are required for everyone over the age of 2 who enters the church. You are asked to keep the mask on for the duration of Mass until you have exited the church.
Mass Schedule: ALL MASSES IN THE MAIN CHURCH
Saturday Vigil: 5:15pm (*this will be the first public Mass on June 6th)
Sunday: 8:00am, 10:00am, 12 Noon (Spanish), 5:15pm
Monday through Friday: 6:30am, 8:00am
Saturday: 8:00am
When you arrive at St. Agnes:
Please put your mask on, covering your nose and mouth, before you enter the church.
The church doors will be open when you arrive and there will be hand sanitizer stations available at the entrances to the church. Please note that the church will be open approximately 15 minutes before Mass in order to allow for proper sanitation.
At this time, we ask that only those who are handicapped and need the elevator use the side entrance to the church (by the bathrooms and elevator).
There will be paper worship aids available for you to pick up.
An usher will guide you to a seat. In order to maintain the recommended 6 feet of social distance, you will be seated in every other pew, with singles and couples being seated towards the aisles and larger families seated toward the middle of the pews. We will be using the two middle sections of pews only.
How Mass will proceed:
During the Liturgy of the Word, Mass will proceed as normal. The cantor will sing from the choir loft as a safety precaution.
During the collection, ushers will come around with long-handled collection baskets while wearing gloves and masks. Please place your envelopes or other contribution into the basket.
There will be no procession with the gifts during the offertory.
There will be no Sign of Peace during Mass.
The Precious Blood will not be distributed during Mass.
There should be no holding of hands during the Our Father
Reception of Holy Communion:
When it is time for Communion, please proceed to the nearest side aisle (NOT the center aisle). Ministers of Holy Communion will be stationed in front of the altars of Mary and St. Joseph. Please see the diagram below to help visualize this.
Please maintain social distancing in the Communion line, keeping several pews between yourself and the person in front of you while in line and returning to your pew. Because of the architecture of St. Agnes, this may mean that when you are returning to your seat, you will need to pay attention to people receiving Communion in other lines.
During the Yellow Phase, the faithful are asked to receive Holy Communion in the hand.
When it is your turn to receive Holy Communion, please approach the minister with your mask on. After saying, “Amen,” and receiving the Body of Christ in your hands, please step to the side, remove your mask, place the consecrated host into your mouth, and replace your mask before going back to your seat. There will be a video demonstrating how to do this by the end of the week.
If you choose to receive Holy Communion on the tongue, please follow the above pattern for the Communion procession. Once the person in front of you has received Holy Communion, please proceed to the Communion distribution station in front of the main altar, where the minister will sanitize between each communicant. Please remove your mask prior to receiving Holy Communion and replace your mask after you have received.
Exiting the Church:
At the conclusion of Mass, please exit the church and proceed directly to your car. Please exit the church as soon as possible so that sanitation can take place before the next Mass. We are also asking that you please take your worship aid and any other papers you may have home with you.
Please do not congregate for any reason.
You are welcome to take a parish bulletin home with you. They will be available on tables so as to minimize the amount of people touching them.
The doors of the church will be open at the conclusion of Mass. Please leave your mask on until you exit the church.
Our Commitment to You:
St. Agnes will follow the guidelines from the CDC for sanitation as we resume public Mass.
The church will be sanitized with an odorless, fast-drying hospital-grade disinfectant in between each Mass. Hand sanitizer stations will be available at the entrances to the church.
All hymnals and Missals will be removed from the pews.
In the event that the number of attendees at Mass is so great that it is no longer possible to maintain social distance, the chapel will be opened and there will be a second Mass taking place simultaneously. This is to allow everyone who wishes to attend Mass to do so, while also maintaining the appropriate social distancing.
