St. Ignatius of Loyola was born in the Basque country of Spain in 1491. His desire to live the life of a nobleman and dashing soldier was cut short by a near fatal injury in battle, which led him to gradually forsake his former life and to “find God in all things.” This presentation will examine how his life circumstances let to the formation of Ignatian spirituality, the characteristics of Ignatian spirituality, and opportunities to experience different types of Ignatian prayer.
