On July 14th, the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, Deacon Kenneth Cavara gave his first homily at St. Agnes Parish. You can watch his homily here. Read below for a message from Deacon Cavara.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Thank you for your support and prayers in anticipation of my ordination to the Sacred Order of Deacon. Throughout the rite of ordination, I was filled with a profound sense of gratitude, peace, and joy. There is no doubt that the prayers of my parish family were an important part of such a grace filled day. I would also like to especially thank Fr. Costa for allowing me to preach and assist for Mass on Corpus Christi. Last weekend was an incredible and significant moment for me on the path to the priesthood.
The encouragement from so many parishioners and the witness of your Christian discipleship has been a constant source of inspiration. It has been a great blessing to grow up in a parish surrounded by your perseverance and fidelity to Christ and His Church.
On June 2, I began my new assignment at St. Andrew’s Parish in Newtown. Please continue to pray for me as I begin to serve Christ and His Church as a deacon. Please be assured of my prayers for you. May the Lord continue to bless you and our Blessed Mother watch over you. St. Agnes, pray for us!
Sincerely in Christ,
Kenneth Cavara
