St. Agnes Nurses Center is a free health clinic located in West Chester. We are committed to protecting life and providing physical and emotional health care to men, women, and children in need, particularly the poor and uninsured. Our nursing staff is comprised of dedicated volunteers who believe that health care is a basic right to which everyone is entitled.
Whom We Serve
St. Agnes Nurses Center serves the uninsured and under insured in the West Chester area. We are committed to making a high standard of care available to those most in need regardless of race, religion, age or ethnicity.
Goals and Objectives
- Provide a point of entry into the general health care system for people with no other access to health care
Empower the individual to be responsible for one’s own health care needs through education, treatment and advocacy
- Increase the long-term health of the community by treating the most vulnerable among us
Growing Need for Medical Care
The Center’s patient load has increased dramatically in recent years. The percentage of Hispanic patients has grown from 3% in 2000 to 61% in 2007. The Nurses Center is the only medical treatment option available to many Hispanic families. Unles all people living in the community have access to quality health care the community is not healthy.
Benefits to our Patients and our Community
- Treat the poorest of the poor who are living, working and going to school in our area
- Protect the health of our community by treating people who do not receive care anywhere else
- Reduce the need for emergency room treatment and hospital stays
You Can Help
The Nurses Center has been providing health care to the poorest of the poor since 1999. None of this would be possible without the support of foundations, corporations, organizations and individuals.
