The Legion of Mary is an organization of Catholic men and women who demonstrate and deepen their devotion to Mary through prayer and good works. Having begun in Ireland in 1921 there are now millions of members in all parts of the world. There are two types of membership: active and auxiliary.
Active members meet each Monday at 7:30pm in TPH, room 202, for prayer and discussion of the work of the past week. Active legionaries routinely visit hospitals and nursing homes, say the rosary with groups of shut-ins and stand ready to assist the pastor when needed.
Our auxiliary members support the work of active members by daily praying the rosary and reciting a few legion prayers. In so doing they join millions of others in this activity around the world. Auxiliary members are not required to attend meetings. If you are praying the rosary daily you are already doing 95% of the work of an auxiliary member and we hope you will add our prayers to yours.
If you are interested in joining this prayerful group as either an active or auxiliary member, send an email to Carmela Cinquina. We hope to hear from you.
